Prairie SWA is just south of Highway 34—5 miles east of Creston and 5 miles west of Afton. Look for the green Sanitary Landfill sign on the highway. Stop in at the Scale Office at the top of the hill.

If you’re delivering trash, pull up onto the scale on the south side of the building and come in the building through the south door. We’ll fill you in on where to take the things you bring out.

Text Box: Be sure to secure (cover or tarp) your load when you deliver waste, or be subject to a surcharge of $10 (residents) -$100 (commercial).

Prairie SWA also provides on-site appliance, tire and electronic recycling, along with household hazardous material collection. Check in at the Scale Office for more information on fees. See the Service List page for more specific Information.
