Prairie Solid Waste Agency works closely with City Carton Recycling and Waste Management to provide our service area with green/blue recycling bins for our voluntary recycling program.
GLASS - Only clear glass accepted
Please empty and rinse containers. NO NEED to remove labels.
NO colored glass, window panes, light bulbs or mirror glass.
STEEL, ALUMINUM, and TIN CANS are accepted.
Clean tin foil and pie tins are accepted.
Please empty and rinse. No NEED to remove label. Crush cans if possible.
NO paint cans, aerosols, hangers or other heavy metals.
NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES, CATALOGS, PHONE BOOKS, WHITE OFFICE PAPER accepted.
No need to remove advertisements or slicks from newspaper.
Please put magazines, catalogs, and white paper Computer, typing, and copy paper
Shredded paper is also accepted in the newspaper bin.
City Carton also takes window and windowless envelopes.
No need to remove staples, paper clips or sticky notes!
NO carbon, colored paper or trash like tissues.
PLASTIC #1 through #9 are accepted.
Look for the plastic number on the item.
Please discard lids, empty and rinse item. Crush containers (if possible) to save space.
Do recycle:milk, water, detergent, ketchup, margarine, yogurt,and bleach containers – any tem with a #1 thru #9
NOstyrofoam,medical waste, motor oil jugs or other toxic chemical containers.
NO grocery sacks (Wal Mart, Hy-Vee or Fareway to recycle these).
In Creston and Corning Only:
Cardboard containers are near each drop off bin for resident’s use. Clean corrugated cardboard only. Break boxes down. No need to remove staples. Drop large quantities off directly to City Carton at the address listed below. Paperboard (cereal boxes) may also be delivered directly to City Carton.
Businesses with cardboard please use the 24 hour drop off bay located at City Carton, Inc. 1451 Highway 34 West in Creston—no need to break down boxes.
