Prairie Solid Waste Agency (SWA)
Text Box: Over twenty five years ago, Prairie SWA (formerly known as the Union County Landfill Commission) was formed to make sound solid waste decisions about landfilling, waste reduction and recycling. Prairie SWA is a 28E (Intergovernmental) Agency. Our members include 7 communities in Union County, Macksburg of Madison County and Union County. Prairie works closely with Adams/Taylor Regional Service Agency (RSA), made up of those counties and communities within. All solid waste from these three counties and Macksburg must be delivered to the Prairie SWA facility according to Iowa Code.
